At Mayer Signs, we see graphic design and vinyl work as visual storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. We're looking for a talented vinyl technician who can take concepts and ideas and create visual representations, in both print and electronic media. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of current design software and be skilled in every step of the design process, printing on various media and installing the media. Collaborating with multiple teams across the company as well as the client, the vinyl technician should be able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design/install that connects. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, and be able to find the right style and layout for every project.
Vinyl Technician Responsibilities:
Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients on a wide range of materials that may include file formats, logos, exterior and interior signs, lit and un-lit signs, awnings, and marketing as a whole.
Develop concepts by hand or with software, and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
Layout, cut, weed and mask cut vinyl for desired projects.
Layout, print and laminate vinyl/graphics for desired projects. This includes maintenance of printers and laminators.
Installation of graphics and signage on the following: interior & exterior walls, surfaces or substrates, vehicles. Includes on and off site. Includes collaborating with our current installer on other projects as well.
Help in assisting the front door traffic and phones. This includes talking with clients about new projects, getting information or listening for their updates to their projects already in place.
